The SIGN Patient and Public Involvement Network is a ‘virtual’ group of patients, carers, members of the public and patient involvement staff from within NHS Scotland. We currently have approximately 400 members who help us by:
telling us about the issues relevant to patients for each guideline topic;
nominating people who could become involved in guideline development;
commenting on guidelines and patient versions (see consultations)
inviting us to events where we could promote our work;
helping to distribute our information to relevant groups; and
helping us to collect patient views via surveys and focus groups.
