22. The guideline should be editorially independent from the funding body

The SIGN guideline development programme is funded by the Clinical Resource and Audit Group (CRAG) of the Scottish Executive Health Department. CRAG approves the topics for guideline development selected by SIGN, but otherwise has no influence over the SIGN guideline programme, neither methodology nor content.
