6. The target users of the guideline should be clearly defined

The target users should be clearly defined in the guideline, so they can immediately determine if the guideline is relevant to them. For example, the target users of a guideline on low back pain might include general practitioners and practice nurses, neurologists, orthopaedic surgeons, rheumatologists, and physiotherapists.
