12. There should be an explicit link between the recommendations and the supporting evidence
When drawing conclusions from the evidence, aspects such as the volume of evidence, its applicability, generalisability, consistency and clinical impact should be taken into account. This is perhaps the most difficult part of the whole process, and requires the exercise of judgement based on experience as well as knowledge of the evidence and the methods used to generate it. Recommendations for clinical practice are derived from these evidence statements, with the key supporting references provided in the guideline.|
