Randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled, cross-over.
Single-dosing with placebo or terbutaline 2.5mg.

Exercise-induced bronchoconstriction

% fall in FEV1

Placebo: 38%

Terbutaline: 11%

Oral terbutaline had a significant protective effect against EIA. Part of this effect may be due to an increas in base FEV1 prior to exercise.
