REMIT OF THE GUIDELINE
Produced jointly by SIGN and the British Thoracic Society (BTS) since 2003, sections of the guideline are updated annually. The 2009 update includes revisions to the sections on pharmacological management, acute asthma and the management of asthma in pregnancy. A systematic literature search was also conducted on inhaler devices but no new evidence was identified to alter the current recommendations.
